Just a friendly reminder that while the obligation to attend Mass each weekend and on Holy Days of Obligation must be taken very seriously, we must use prudence when weather or illness might impede our attendance. 

Canon Law of the Catholic Church (1247) states that on Sundays and other Holy Days of Obligation, the faithful are obliged to participate in the Mass. However, the law does not expect the impossible nor can the fulfillment of the obligation be overly burdensome or dangerous. 

There is no obligation to attend Mass if weather and/or road conditions are unsafe or make travel dangerous or difficult, or, if one is unable to get out of their driveway or parking space. It could very well be the wrong thing to do if you become the cause of an accident especially if the accident results in the injury or death of someone else or yourself. 

So while the Masses will almost always take place because the Friars live next door, and the Mass intention has to be satisfied, that does not mean that you should risk life or injury to attend. This is all the more the case for weekday Masses when there is no obligation to attend. If you cannot attend spend some extra time in personal prayer and/or watch Mass online or on TV if you can. Please be prudent and safe in your decisions.
